To be considered for a subcontracted job for any photography workshop event here at Tampa Workshops, you are required to participate with a relevant photography shootout event at Tampa Shootouts which matches its counterpart here at Tampa Workshops. For our Focus Modeling Photography Workshops, that would be the Athena Modeling Photography and Networking Event Series over at Tampa Shootouts. We use the photography shootout events as working auditions to evaluate the professionals. Again, this is REQUIRED as part of the consideration process!
The jobs offered at the workshop events of Tampa Workshops are NOT offer of employment. We subcontract working professionals on a workshop-by-workshop basis to instruct the students and the participants, and the type of professionals whom we subcontract varies by the type of workshop event and the format. Currently, though, our workshop events are always in need of models and photographers who have thriving careers already.
We do NOT want teachers who are in the teaching profession, because most full-time teachers out there do not have the experience and the skills that working professionals have. Obviously, though, the subcontracted working professionals have to have great interpersonal and public speaking skills; they have to be able to teach without being actual “teachers”.
Pay for our subcontracted professionals depends upon their level of experience and expertise, and it is often negotiable. Since the subcontracted professional is not an employee, they would obviously act as a sole proprietor business and manage their own taxes and other details.
More information is in our Auditions section. Subcontractors who have already worked at least one workshop event will be added to our Professionals, and/ or Instructors section with links to their business web site and other reference information.
